The classic "light bulb" is history - modern lamps are the future

The conventional incandescent lamp belongs to the past. Now, at last, the age of the modern lamp is starting! On the 1st. September 2012 the 4th. stage of the incandescent lamp prohibition comes into force - the official end of the sale of the classic "light bulbs" with 40, 25 and 15 watt ratings, because they do not comply with requirements of energy efficiency class C. A milestone on the road to a contemporary future. This is because the latest ErP stage from the European Union removes the last remaining inefficient incandescent lamps from the market.

The phasing out is now complete

This concludes the phasing out of the "good old incandescent lamp", that started in 2009 with the stepwise exclusion of 100, 75 and 60 watt lamps. Special lamps are excluded from this regulation. Up to 2016 there will be three additional ErP stages that refer to additional inefficient lamps.

Correct disposal - doing good twice over!

Up to 31st. October 2012 the campaign "Correct disposal and doing good twice over" is being run by the recycling company Lightcycle. The aim of the campaign is to provide clarification of correct disposal of old lamps. Because worn-out LED and energy-saving lamps still far to often end up in household waste, even though they need to be disposed of properly. The problem is: Many users are not aware how and where the LED and energy-saving lamps can be disposed of properly.

Anybody who takes their old lamps to a collection point before the end of October will not only help the environment but will also be making German schoolyards more beautiful. Because, until then, Lightcycle will be donating ten Euros for each full collection box in order to be able to redesign schoolyards in a creative new way. All schools can apply with their schoolyard projects and the 15 best ideas will be supported by Lightcycle, together with the Deutsche Kinderhilfswerk (German Children's Aid Organization), to a total sum of 100,000 Euros.
