Martin Scorsese exhibition at the Kinemathek is sponsored by OSRAM
OSRAM is sponsoring the world's first exhibition to Martin Scorsese, the famous American film director, at the Munich Kinemathek. The exciting exhibition, 10th of January to 12 Of May 2013, makes the immense importance of the work as a director of Scorsese clearly on the modern American film. It is organized thematically into eight areas: family, brothers, husband and wife, lonely hero, New York, cinema, cinematography, editing and music.
600 contemporary original objects from the work of Martin Scorsese
On display are expansive video installations and around 600 contemporary original objects, such as a photograph of the bloody T-shirt, that Robert De Niro wore in "Cape Fear" (1991). Visitors can learn additionally, what Scorsese's inspiration for his creative work was and what specific working methods he used to realize his famous films.
Correspondences, screenplay excerpts and original costumes allow the traceability of the emergence of Scorsese's cinematic figures. Drawn storyboards by himself, set photographs and spectacular props reflect the working methods of one of the most important American directors of our time. Scorsese's own collection and the archives of his associates Robert De Niro, Paul Schrader and the production designer Dante Ferretti were evaluated for this purpose.
Besides Martin Scorsese's artistic works, the exhibition also pays tribute to his commitment to the maintenance of international film heritage, which he used to form a bridge between the history and the future of cinema.
